About Onyx Aqua
A square abstract built from swirling marble and agate patterns. Bands of deep cobalt and mid teal curl into concentric rings along the left edge and lower right corner, edged with fine white lines that read like mineral layers. Between them, broad veins of warm ochre gold sweep vertically through the centre, lightening to pale cream near the top. Small pale aqua pockets sit inside the darker rings, and thin dark blue threads trace the boundaries where the two colour families meet.
The overall effect is cool and mineral, with the gold giving it warmth and a polished stone feel. It reads as pattern rather than picture, so the eye follows the ripples instead of looking for a subject.
Works in a bathroom or ensuite above a vanity, in a coastal-style bedroom over the bed, or in a dining room on a white or pale grey wall. Pairs with brass tapware, rattan and timber furniture, navy linen and marble benchtops. The square format suits chimney breasts and narrow wall sections between windows.
