About Painted Weaving IV
Three horizontal bands sit stacked on a clean white ground. The top band is the narrowest, a warm mid taupe that reads almost like a strip of tape laid across the upper third. Below it, a wider band of very pale grey-white spans a similar width with slightly uneven ends. The lowest and largest band is a soft cream, close to unbleached linen, filling the bottom half. Each band has frayed, feathered edges, as though torn from woven cloth, with tiny fibres catching along every side.
The character is quiet and restrained. Tone does all the work here: warm taupe against cool grey against cream, with generous white space holding the three shapes apart so nothing competes.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and home offices where the palette is already neutral. Works over a bedhead with linen bedding, above a timber console, or beside pale oak and rattan. Pairs well with a second neutral abstract print of the same size for a matched set, and with black or natural floating frames.
