About Palm I
A single palm frond sits alone on a plain white ground, its stem entering from the top right corner and running diagonally down to the lower left. Dozens of narrow leaflets fan out from either side of the central rib, each one tapering to a fine point, with the longest blades reaching past the middle of the frame and the shortest gathering at the tip. The green ranges from deep forest at the leaflet edges to pale yellow-green where the wash thins, with ochre and mustard patches marking some blades.
The watercolour treatment leaves visible edges where pigment has pooled and dried, and thin white gaps show between the leaflets so the frond reads as light and open rather than solid. The mood is quiet and botanical, closer to a field study than a tropical poster.
Works in a bathroom, bedroom or home office where white or pale walls need one clear note of green. Good above a bath, a bedhead or a desk, and it pairs naturally with rattan, light timber, linen bedding and indoor plants. Hang as a pair with a second botanical print for a balanced wall.
