About Playful Blooms
Two tall, narrow vases with flared necks stand side by side on a pale ledge, their bodies shading from warm grey at the shoulder to near-black along the right edge. Four blue daisies rise on thin, curving stems, one arcing high to the upper left, two leaning right, each flower built from short petal strokes in cobalt, pale blue and a touch of green at the centre. Behind them a violet-grey rectangle sits against a lighter border, and the ledge below breaks into vertical cream and olive stripes.
The paint is laid on dry and scratched back, with fine incised lines looping across the background like faint wire. It is a quiet, slightly worn still life, more about texture and muted colour than botanical detail.
Suits a dining room, hallway or bedroom with soft grey, stone or lavender walls. It works above a sideboard, console or bedhead, and sits well beside pale timber, linen upholstery and brushed nickel fittings. Pair it with a second muted floral or a plain grey abstract for a calm two-piece wall. Browse more floral art, the Statton Collection, silver and grey art.
