About Poppy Palette I
Three wide open blooms fill the upper half of a portrait canvas. A vivid red-orange poppy sits centre, its petals streaked with scarlet, tangerine and a little gold, gathered around a dark speckled seed head. Behind it to the left is a soft butter-yellow flower with ochre shading, and to the right a pale blue-grey bloom with a faint green centre. All three rise on thin dark charcoal stems that curve down to the base, with a small closed bud leaning in at lower right.
The background is a plain warm cream that shows fine streaked texture, so the flowers read as sketch-like shapes rather than precise botanical studies. A small signature sits in the lower left corner. The character is quiet and slightly faded, with one bold red accent doing all the work against muted neutrals.
Suits a bedroom above a bedside table, a hallway console or a dining room wall where a single warm accent is wanted. The cream ground sits easily on white, oatmeal or sandy walls, and the red bloom picks up terracotta cushions, rattan, brass lamps and light oak or walnut furniture.
