A pit bull faces the viewer head-on, its folded-over ears tipped slightly outward and its brown eyes looking straight ahead with a soft, mild expression. A heavy black outline traces the head, ears and shoulders, and the face is split into patches of colour: yellow and orange down the muzzle, green across the brow, blue and purple around the eyes.
The nose is a flat sky blue. Small dots, stripes, hearts and zigzag marks are scattered over the fur, with a pink patterned shape at the chest. Behind the dog is a square background of watery blue, lilac and pink washes, with white drips and pale rays spreading from the head. A small black signature sits at the lower right. The look is bold contemporary pop art, with the dog central and the square format filling the frame.
