About Raw Coast I
A portrait-format abstract built from horizontal washes that stack down the canvas. The top edge carries soft mauve and dusty plum, which gives way to a broad band of sea green, then deeper teal and near-black ink blue through the middle. Pale vertical drips run from top to bottom, breaking the colour into streaks. Across the lower third a ragged sweep of off-white cuts in from both sides, its torn edge scattering fine speckles of violet and grey over the darker ground below.
The character is weathered and quiet, closer to a rain-stained wall or a tide line than to any drawn subject. Colour does all the work here, with the cream base giving the composition a clear place to rest.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a living room with linen upholstery, or a hallway that needs colour without pattern. The teal and plum sit well against white, pale grey or soft sage walls, and pair with timber furniture, rattan, ceramic vessels and woven rugs. Works as one of a pair in a wider space.
