About Red Buds
Two red tulip buds stand on slim stems against a grey and white background. The taller bud sits high on the left, its petals cut in short, loaded strokes of crimson, white and near-black, with a few flecks of yellow at the tips. The second, smaller bud leans in at right, half open. Below them, thin scarlet lines cross in a loose grid, with drips running down from the flower heads. A band of white and a strip of dark blue-black run down the right edge.
The character is graphic and restrained: a limited palette of red on grey, with palette-knife ridges on the petals and fine ruled lines holding the lower half together. It reads as a modern floral rather than a soft botanical study.
Suits a hallway, entry wall or dining room where a single strong colour is wanted against grey, white or charcoal walls. Works above a sideboard or in a bedroom paired with black picture frames, chrome or brushed steel light fittings, and grey linen. The narrow portrait shape fits a slim wall between doors or windows.
