About Reflecting Eye II

The London Eye fills the centre of the frame, its great circle rising against a flat charcoal night sky. The rim is picked out in colour: deep red through the upper left and lower arc, shifting to cool blue across the top and along the right side, with the passenger capsules reading as small glowing beads around the outside. Fine spoke cables fan from the central hub, and the A-frame support legs drop in pale grey to the riverbank below.

Everything else is held in black and white. On the left a blocky office tower shows rows of lit windows; on the right the long floodlit facade of County Hall stretches toward the edge. The Thames occupies the lower third, a still dark band carrying soft reflections of the shoreline lights. The selective colour treatment gives the image a graphic, poster-like character while the long exposure keeps the water smooth and the mood quiet.
