About Ripple Effect
The canvas is built from overlapping rectangles and diagonal wedges rather than a single field. At upper left a pale cream block holds a dense tangle of gold, scratched and looped like a nest of wire. Crimson floods the top edge and runs down the centre, meeting a cool grey-blue triangle that slides diagonally toward the lower right. Green and violet blocks fill the right side, stepped with horizontal bands, while a near-black rectangle anchors the lower middle. Yellow and white spatter flicks across the darker passages.
The surface carries real relief: combed circular swirls, cracked ridges and thick gold ribbons that catch light. It reads as an energetic, layered abstract where warm red and metallic gold are held in check by cool grey and violet geometry.
Suits a lounge room with neutral grey or white walls, above a low sideboard or a leather sofa where the red and gold can carry the space. Works with brass or timber accents, dark stained floors and plain linen furnishings. The larger sizes hold a stairwell wall or a dining room end wall well.
