About Sailboat II
A single model yacht sits centred on a square canvas, resting on a narrow dark timber shelf that runs across the lower edge. The hull is glossy black above a red waterline stripe, with a small row of white portholes along its side. Three sails are set: a cream jib at the bow, a large pale sail with faint horizontal seams at the centre, and a rear sail split into bright yellow and deep navy blue panels. The background is a wall of vertical grey-green timber boards.
A string of small triangular flags in red, green and mustard runs from the mast down to the forestay. The picture has a calm, slightly faded look, more a keepsake study of a toy boat than a seascape, and the visible wood grain gives it a weathered coastal feel.
Suits a children's bedroom, nursery or beach house hallway, and works as a pair with other nautical prints above a low bookshelf. The grey-green timber background sits well with white walls, painted panelling, rattan baskets and blue bedlinen, and it also suits a home office or study wall.
