About Seaside Day III
A tall portrait composition reads as a shoreline seen from a dune. The upper half is a washed pale blue-grey sky with faint horizontal streaks, softening into a band of cream and blush near the horizon. Below that, thin ribbons of navy, apricot and tan stack like distant water and sandbars. The lower half breaks into wide flat shapes: a pale blue slope, a deep navy wedge running diagonally to the right edge, a soft sage green field and broad areas of warm grey and white.
Edges are left visible where one colour stops against another, and dry streaks run through the sky and the grey foreground, giving the flat shapes a chalky, matt surface. The character is quiet and airy rather than dramatic, with the single navy wedge providing the only strong contrast in an otherwise muted pastel palette.
Suits a coastal or beach house interior, a bedroom above a bedhead, or a narrow hallway wall where a tall format fits. Works with white and oatmeal linen, pale timber, rattan and brushed nickel. Pairs well with a second tall abstract of the same series to flank a window or doorway. Browse more blue art, green art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
