A sepia-toned photograph looks across a river toward a stone bridge with three broad arches. Each arch carries a round carved medallion on the spandrel above it. A pale, glowing sky behind the bridge pushes through heavy, dark clouds, and the light bounces off the water under the near arches.
In the foreground a wide cobblestone path runs along the river, each stone catching a little light, with a low stone kerb leading the eye toward the bridge. Across the water stands a grand building with steep roofs, dormer windows and a corner turret. Trees and stone steps sit to the right. The edges darken in a soft vignette, giving the scene a slightly dreamy, aged feel.
