About Solitude Two
A woman sits on the arm of a blue sofa, her back mostly turned, face in profile with a short dark bob. The mood is quiet and self-contained. Paint is applied in dry, scrubbed layers so the weave of the canvas shows through the ochre wall and the cream floor, with the sofa's carved blue flower and a red band along its base drawn in simple incised lines.
