About Spice Market II
A square abstract built from horizontal bands of colour crossed by two large outlined circles. The upper third is a graded ochre to amber field marked with rows of small dots, where a dark brown ring runs off the top edge. A deep chocolate band with scratched, mottled marks sits across the middle, edged top and bottom by narrow strips of silver-grey, cream and rust. The lower half is a rich crimson field with faint cloudy veining, and a thin gold ring loops from the middle band down into it.
The overall character is warm and grounded: spice-tin reds and ochres held in check by ruled metallic lines, with the two open circles giving the layered surface a calm, deliberate rhythm.
Suits warm interiors with timber, leather or terracotta: a dining room above a sideboard, a hallway, or a bedroom wall painted in cream or clay. It works beside brass lamps, rattan and dark-stained furniture, and pairs naturally with a second square abstract in the same red and ochre range.
