About Spring Rain I
A square abstract built from broad vertical strokes on a pale lime and cream ground. A dark green arc sweeps across the top left corner, with a wash of sage green filling the upper right. Down the centre and right, long rounded strokes in deep forest green, teal and mustard ochre stand like leaves or pods, some overlapped by a single thin horizontal line. Slim blue marks hang at the upper left, and fine drips of blue, white and green run down through the pale background.
The mood is fresh and watery, closer to a garden after rain than to anything literal, with the drips giving the composition its movement.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and beach house living rooms where the palette is already light. The lime and cream ground works against white or pale grey walls, and the deep green strokes pick up timber, rattan and indoor plants.
