About Teal Impression II
A square composition built from rows of quatrefoil Moroccan tiles, drawn in soft outlines that fade in and out across the surface. The left third is deep teal and blue, with tiles stacked tightly and a scrolling gold and green motif curling in from the top corner. Moving right, the ground lightens to pale cream, sage and butter yellow, and the tile grid becomes faint, almost washed away. In the lower right sits a large ornate medallion in gold and dark green, its centre a small eight-point rosette ringed by curling vines.
The surface reads as layered washes over a woven canvas weave, with vertical streaks and mottled patches where colour has pooled. Its character is calm and decorative, closer to faded tilework or old wallpaper than to hard-edged geometry.
Works in bathrooms, bedrooms and beach house hallways where teal and green already appear in tiles or linen. Pairs with rattan, whitewashed timber and brass fittings, and sits well above a vanity or bedhead.
