About The Assembly
Six tall, narrow figures stand in a loose cluster slightly right of centre, painted in maroon, plum and charcoal against a soft cream and sand background. Their bodies taper into thin legs that trail downward like drips, and their heads are small rounded marks, one topped with a pale grey shape and two with small red dots. In the lower left corner a solid block of deep red rises from the bottom edge, its surface scratched and mottled. The background is brushed in vertical strokes with faint apricot and grey-green tints.
The mood is quiet and ceremonial, the figures reading as a gathering rather than individual portraits. The single red block anchors the composition and keeps the warm, near-empty field from feeling weightless.
Suits a hallway, dining room or bedroom where the wall is painted white, cream or soft grey. The maroon and deep red pick up burgundy cushions, terracotta pots and rust-toned rugs, while the sand background sits easily with oak, rattan and linen.
