About The Bar Bill
A white duck peers over the edge of a rust-brown bar counter, its broad orange-yellow bill laid flat on the surface and its pale blue eyes looking sideways. To the left stands a martini glass on a slender stem, holding a green olive with a red pimento centre and a thin cocktail pick angled out of the glass. The background is a deep, flat chocolate brown, and the counter reads as a grainy, speckled orange-brown band across the lower half of the square.
The drawing is finely stippled, with soft pencil-like shading on the duck's feathers and a torn, deckled paper edge visible around the image. Its character is quiet comedy: a small, patient animal at a bar, done with restraint rather than cartoon exaggeration.
