About The Blue Swirls II
Broad ribbon forms loop and fold across the square, each one built from tight parallel stripes of cobalt and navy blue, chalky white, warm cream, soft grey and thin lines of olive gold. The bands cross over and under one another, with two large open loops meeting near the centre and smaller curved bands filling the corners. Fine dry-edged striations run the length of every ribbon, giving the surface a combed, fibrous texture that reads almost like twisted fabric or coiled rope caught mid-turn.
The character is energetic but controlled: a limited blue, cream and gold palette repeated across dozens of curves, so the piece stays calm from a distance and busy up close. It reads as movement frozen in place.
Works above a sideboard in a dining room, over a bed with white linen, or in a coastal-style living room where blue and sand tones already appear. The square format suits a chimney breast or a narrow wall between doorways. Pairs with pale timber, rattan, brass lamps and plain white walls.
