About The Crossing Green
A portrait abstract built on a warm cream ground that looks weathered, like plaster scraped back in places. A soft sage green vertical band runs the full height just right of centre, crossed near the lower third by a teal and green horizontal bar, forming an off-centre cross. Rough rectangular blocks sit either side, filled with upright strokes of deep burgundy red and rust that break into ragged, scratched edges. Small pale blue marks and comb-like ridges appear in the lower left quadrant.
The character is quiet and architectural rather than loud: the red only appears in two clustered zones, so the eye moves between them across a large field of cream. Surface texture reads as scraped, layered and slightly worn, giving the composition an aged, wall-fresco feel.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a dining room feature wall or a beach house hallway where cream and timber already dominate. The sage and teal bands pick up linen, rattan and aged brass, while the burgundy blocks work with terracotta pots, tan leather and dark timber frames. Good as a single tall portrait piece between windows. Browse more green art, red art, multi-coloured art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
