About Twigs and Berries II
A square still life arranged over blocks of cream, soft yellow, pale blue and grey. Three vessels sit on a black ledge: a tall charcoal bottle vase marked with darker circles, a low grey-blue bowl with a horizontal banded stripe, and a rounded jar painted in black and cream stripes. Curling bare twigs rise and loop above them in thin brown lines, and a cluster of small red berries hangs on a stem at the centre, the only strong colour in the composition.
The background is built from flat rectangles, including a brushed blue panel top right and a silvery grey block at the base, which keeps the arrangement graphic rather than realistic. A signature sits in the lower right corner. The character is quiet and decorative, with muted tones held together by the sharp red berries and the sweep of the twigs.
Suits dining rooms above a sideboard, kitchens, hallways and home offices where the wall colour is cream, grey or soft blue. It works with pale timber, black metal frames and linen upholstery, and sits well beside ceramics or a vase of dried stems that echo the twigs in the artwork.
