The full Union Jack fills the frame edge to edge in landscape format: four deep navy quarters, a broad scarlet cross outlined in cream running vertically and horizontally through the centre, and narrower red diagonals sitting inside wider cream saltire bands that run corner to corner. The whole flag has been given a heavily weathered treatment, with the navy mottled from near black at the corners to a lighter washed blue, and the cream stripes stained to a tea-coloured beige in patches.

Fine scratches, speckles and dark blotches run across the surface, and the edges of the flag fade and blur rather than finishing on a clean line. The character is bold and graphic from a distance, but close up it reads as an old, sun-bleached banner rather than a crisp modern flag.
