About Unveil
A woman's body fills the centre of an upright canvas, cropped at the collarbone so no face is shown and one arm runs off the top left edge. Light falls from the front and left, modelling the ribs, the soft hollow beneath the sternum, the navel and the crease of the hip in pale ivory and grey-green. The near thigh crosses toward the lower left, while a second leg rests behind it in half-shadow. The background is an almost flat charcoal-olive dark that presses the figure forward. A small signature sits lower right.
The paint is smoothly blended with no visible brush ridges, so the tonal shift from lit skin to shadow does the work. It is a quiet, restrained study rather than a decorative nude.
Suited to a bedroom, dressing room or ensuite where the low-key tones stay calm, and to hallways with dark or moody walls. It works against deep grey, charcoal or warm putty paint, beside black metal lamps, linen bedheads and timber. Hang it alone rather than in a group so the single lit figure holds the wall.
