A single open flower fills most of this square watercolour, its broad petals washed in violet, lilac and plum. Colour pools and fades within each petal, leaving pale lavender centres and darker purple edges where the pigment has settled. The dark, speckled heart of the bloom sits just above the middle.
At lower left a closed bud on a thin stem is tinted magenta and purple with cream-grey patches. Two taupe-brown leaves sit low on the right and bottom, with soft tide-line edges. The background is clean white paper, so the petals look light and loose, with no outlines drawn around them.
