About Tasmanian Rainforest Waterfall
A wide curtain of water drops over a dark rock ledge in the centre of the frame, recorded with a long exposure so the falls read as soft white ribbons rather than droplets. The cliff face behind is wet basalt, almost black where the light does not reach, with small ferns growing out of cracks. Tree ferns crowd both edges, their fronds arching into the top corners, and a fibrous trunk rises on the right. In the foreground sit mossy logs and dark rounded boulders at the plunge pool.
Light is flat and overcast, so the greens stay deep and saturated and the white water becomes the brightest thing in the picture. The mood is cool, damp and quiet, the sort of gully light found under a closed rainforest canopy.
Works in a living room above a low timber sideboard, in a bedroom facing the bed, or in a home office where a cool green outlook helps.
