About Whitehaven Beach Queensland
The view looks down from a forested headland across a long white sand spit and the turquoise shallows of Hill Inlet. In the foreground, dense scrub in olive and dark green tumbles toward a small cove edged with rust-orange rock and pale sand. A dark-hulled boat sits near the sandbar with a curved white wake trailing behind it, and tiny figures are scattered along the beach. Beyond the sand, the water deepens from aqua to navy, with a low green island on the left horizon.
The upper half is given over to sky: banks of bright cumulus with flat grey bases float across a deep blue that darkens toward the top corners. The photograph has a crisp, high-contrast character, with the white sand and cloud tops pushed bright against the saturated blues.
Suits a beach house living room, a coastal-style bedroom or a hallway that needs depth. It works against white, pale grey or limewashed walls, and pairs with rattan, linen, timber and woven jute.
