About Aqua Blossom
A row of loose watercolour blooms stretches the full width of the canvas, each flower sitting on a thin, dark green stem that rises from the bottom edge. The petals are painted as soft, irregular circles with ragged outer edges, ranging from pale aqua and sea green through mid teal to deep indigo and navy. Several flowers overlap, their washes bleeding into one another, while small pointed leaves break up the gaps between stems. The background is a flat, lightly mottled off-white with faint grey speckling.
Colour pools unevenly inside every bloom, so the centres read darker and the rims fade out where the pigment has run. Taller flowers on the right carry the heaviest indigo, balancing the lighter green cluster at centre left. The effect is quiet and airy rather than decorative, with plenty of empty space above the flower heads.
The long, narrow shape suits the wall above a sofa, a bed head or a sideboard in a dining room. Cool teals and indigo sit well with white or pale grey walls, linen upholstery, rattan and light timber. Good in a coastal bedroom, a home office, or a hallway that needs colour without heavy pattern. Browse more blue art, green art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
